Ho Chi Minh City, July 12, 2022 – On the morning of July 12, 2022, at room B1-204, the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG-UEH) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA) for the 2022-2027 period. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of training for the School of Public Finance’s specializations in Taxation in Business and Tax Management, providing students with practical knowledge and access to numerous career opportunities.
The signing ceremony was attended by distinguished representatives from CELG-UEH, including: Dr. Dinh Cong Khai – Vice Rector of CELG; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Gia Luat – Vice Dean in charge of the School of Public Finance; Dr. Le Quang Cuong – Program Director for Taxation in Business; Dr. Tran Trung Kien – Program Director for Tax Management; along with other esteemed faculty members and students. From the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA), Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong – President and Standing Committee Member, along with 5 Vice Presidents and heads of the association’s committees, were present.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Vice Rector of CELG, shared: “In October 2021, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City officially announced its university restructuring strategy, aiming to become a multi-disciplinary and sustainable university for the 2021-2030 period. Accordingly, the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) was established to train high-quality human resources with the capacity to identify and solve complex, interdisciplinary, and multi-disciplinary problems in economics, law, and state management at global, regional, and Vietnamese scales. Alongside academic research, practical research for localities, short-term training, consulting, policy advocacy, and technology transfer for localities; and international cooperation in joint training, faculty and student exchange, scientific research, international conferences, etc., aimed at sustainable development, CELG always focuses on linking with domestic enterprises in: i) Cooperating to build training programs, foster, and develop human resources; ii) Cooperating in scientific research and consulting; and iii) Cooperating in organizing conferences, seminars, economic columns, scientific dialogues, and providing and exchanging information to meet domestic, regional, and global market demands. Today, we are very pleased to cooperate with the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA).”
Within the framework of the program, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Gia Luat, and Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation activities related to teaching, such as: UEH and HTCAA sharing insights between academic lectures and practical reports/exercises from HTCAA speakers. Simultaneously, other activities were proposed, including: joint organization of workshops on Tax Policy topics; periodic specialized reports to exchange updated knowledge and practical challenges, thereby providing lecturers with more real-world examples for student learning; graduation assessment activities; master’s training; and admission and curriculum consulting.
In a spirit of consensus, the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government – School of Public Finance and the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA) officially signed the MOU cooperation agreement. The contents of the cooperation are implemented to enhance the quality of training in Taxation in Business and Tax Management specializations within the School of Public Finance. This is considered a major step forward for the development of the School of Public Finance and its two tax specializations in particular, and also a condition to affirm the overall development of the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG). With the strengths and long history of training in the field of Taxation at the School of Public Finance, expanding cooperation with a professional organization that offers in-depth training activities in tax consulting like HTCAA provides an opportunity for students to enhance their practical knowledge and for lecturers to update themselves on new market trends.
Based on the content of this cooperation, the UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) will continue to implement its training programs with the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA) in the coming period. It is anticipated that this cooperative relationship will bring numerous practical benefits to both parties in the future and contribute even more to the socio-economic development of the country.
Additional Information: The Ho Chi Minh City Tax Consultants and Agents Association (HTCAA) – formerly the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Agent Club – has been active for nearly 7 years and is the first organization nationwide to gather businesses and individuals operating in the fields of tax agents, accounting, auditing, tax consulting, accounting software, e-invoices, lecturers, lawyers, etc., with 120 members. Annually, the Tax Agent Club supports tax declaration, finalization, and consulting for over 10,000 corporate clients, and provides free personal income tax finalization support for taxpayers, averaging over 6,500 dossiers per year. HTCAA now has full legal status, and its expanded operational scale will facilitate tax agents in enhancing their reputation and position, continuing to serve as an extended arm of tax authorities and a bridge to various government agencies and departments. Ms. Thu Huong emphasized: “The Association will also continue to promote efficiency in all activities to increase the quality and quantity of the tax agent professional organization that its members have passionately and collectively built.”
