Accreditation of the Bachelor of Finance and Banking – Public Finance Programme by FIBAA Standards at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH)

On September 10–11, 2025, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) coordinated with the international quality assurance agency FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) to conduct the accreditation of four study programmes according to FIBAA standards, including the Bachelor of Finance and Banking – Public Finance programme.

The FIBAA expert panel included Ms. Lisa Lubomierski (FIBAA Project Manager); professors Prof. Dr. Natalie Aleksandra Gurvits-Suits (School for Business and Governance, Tallinn University, Germany), Prof. Dr. Victor Randall (Hochschule Coburg, Germany), Dr. Zamzagul Sultanova (Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University, Kazakhstan), Dr. Nguyen Chi Thang (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam); industry specialist Dr. Olaf Neitzsch (Dr. Olaf Neitzsch Consulting, Germany); and student representative Jacob Krüger (University of Bayreuth, Germany).

From UEH, participants included Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao, Party Secretary and Chair of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh, President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Vice President; executive boards of member schools; leaders of academic faculties; programme directors and teaching staff; along with representatives of functional offices, the Youth Union, alumni, and current students of the accredited programmes.

During the working sessions, the FIBAA experts conducted interviews and in-depth discussions with programme directors, key lecturers, administrative units, the Youth Union, alumni, and students to clarify and evaluate the strengths and areas for improvement of each programme. The panel also carried out a campus tour and highly appreciated UEH’s facilities, which effectively support teaching, research, and community service.

At the closing session, the FIBAA experts presented a preliminary summary of their evaluation and commended UEH’s continuous efforts to maintain and enhance programme quality, reaffirming the university’s pioneering role in economics, management, and administration education in Vietnam.

This accreditation process is an important opportunity for the Faculty of Public Finance to comprehensively review programme objectives, curriculum content, teaching methods, and learning outcomes, thereby ensuring that the Bachelor of Finance and Banking – Public Finance programme consistently meets international standards and contributes to UEH’s orientation toward multidisciplinary, sustainable, and globally integrated development.
