The School of Public Finance (SoPF) of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City

The School of Public Finance (SoPF) of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City was established in 1976. It was the very first school specializing in public finance and public administration in the south of Vietnam. Besides providing undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Public Finance, Taxation, and Customs - Foreign Trade, SoPF also provides short-term courses to enhance the capacity of management and professional skills for individuals and organizations in the public and private sectors. Lecturers are well-trained and experienced; most of them have worked as consultants for UNDP projects in the area of financial and public administration reform. 

 

Until now SoPF has offered four undergraduate programs, one master program, and one doctoral program. In addition, SoPF has also delivered many short training courses in the fields of Public Finance, Taxation, Taxation for Business, and International Trade - Customs Management (See Table 1).

During its development, SoPF has kept improving the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate programs basing on updated research findings and latest practical case studies. For example, with the Public Finance undergraduate program, on 11st June 2014, the President of UEH signed the Decision No. 1925/QĐ-ĐHKT-QLKH on implementing the UEH Advanced Undergraduate programs, which includes the Public Finance program version 2014. After three years of implementation, the board of leaders of the School have reviewed and improved the program. In particular, on 20th September 2017, the President of UEH signed the Decision No. 2511/QD-DHKT on updating and improving the program. Recently, on 20th March 2019, the President of UEH signed the Decision No. 483/QD-DHKT on continuing to improve the program to be more fit for its purpose.
